Al-Nassr superstar Cristiano Ronaldo joined a host of dignitaries in attendance at the 2025 Saudi Cup Horse Race in Riyadh. This is as he meets Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner took to his X handle to express his happiness in meeting with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman at the occasion of Saudi Arabia’s 2025 Founding Day. Celebrated annually on February 22, Founding Day marks the founding of Saudi Arabia’s first state in 1727.
Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr had faced a setback in the title race as the host suffered a disappointing defeat to Al-Ettifaq on Friday. The encounter which featured a second-half comeback from Al-Ettifaq, thanks to heroics from former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum, also saw Al-Nassr’s newest signing, Jhon Duran, receive a red card in the 92nd minute in what was deemed a controversial decision.
The Saudi outfit has now gone without a win in its last two matches. The 40-year-old Portuguese international will seek to lead his team back to winning ways when Al-Nassr face Al-Wehda in the Saudi Pro League on Tuesday.
